H+Son arrival

H+Son rims have arrived in the US courtesty of QBP, who will be the exclusive US distributor. In addition to these rims being availble for custom builds, we’ve built up an outstanding new track wheelset that features the SL42 rim- enter the Handspun Blackout:

  • H+Son SL42 rim (Black)
  • All-City fixed track hub (Black)
  • DT Competition spokes (Yes, in black)
  • 100% hand-built to perfection
  • MSRP: $195 (Front), $200 (Rear)
  • Available now through your local dealer

The two rim profiles currently available through QBP are the SL42 and the Formation Face:

SL42- with brake track

Formation Face- no brake track

Before making the decision to carry these rims, we ordered a few of each and rode them in varying conditions to see how they held up. Despite pavement, dirt, and a Minnesota winter, we’ve had no problems whatsoever. One word of caution before deciding on these rims- you’ll need tubes with 60mm valves. Be sure to change your spare tubes as well.

Our man Derrick from BMC has been riding his Formation Face rims built up as 700c disc commuter wheels for the past few months:

2000+ miles of potholes, snow and a few crashes on the ice- the wheels are still straight and true.

Jeff from All City has been riding this SL42 equipped beast since last fall:

Through daily commutes and alley cat races, Jeff’s SL42’s have held up without issue.

My personal bike for commuting and ‘cross bike adventures on mtn bike trails:

H+Son Formation Face rims on XT centerlock hubs, w/Ritchey Speedmax 32mm tires. These wheels have held up through one MN winter (complete with crashes on the ice), 1000+ miles of commuting, and 50+ hours on local singletrack. I’ve suffered two pinch flats where I drilled a concealed rock or root, and through it all these wheels are still straight and true.

Great rims turned into great wheels by Handspun.

Welcome to H+Son- we look forward to working together.
