Park Tool Master Mechanic Spoke Wrench
Such a little thing makes such a big difference…
Park Tool has just released the SW-20 Master Mechanic Spoke Wrench, and in typical Park Tool fashion this looks to be the new benchmark spoke wrench that all others will be measured against. While there are plenty of spoke wrenches that will get the job done, there haven’t been any professional level wrenches made in a long while. For their new spoke wrenches Park starts with hardened tool steel, then adds chrome plating- the result is a spoke wrench that’s easy to handle, had some heft to it, and is built tough enough to withstand years of use.

Handspun is proud to have the SW-20 as our go-to spoke wrench, and if you happen to be riding one of the thousands of wheels that we build this year, it was trued with one of these. For more information on the SW-20 and the rest of Park’s fine tool offerings check out the Park Tool website.

Dyna’s New Ride
Handspun veteran builder Dyna Hout got herself a new bike, and what makes this so momentous is that this is Dyna’s first bike since living in the U.S. While Dyna has been building top notch wheels for years, she hasn’t fully enjoyed the fruits of her labor until now. The rest of the Hanspun builders were extremely excited to help Dyna make her dream bike a reality, and in the end she went with a Surly 1x1, with a healthy dose of pink accents like a King headset, Jagwire housings, All City grips, and a Terry saddle; as you might have guessed, she built up some pretty sweet wheels for it too.

Dyna’s wheels feature some special pink Velocity Blunt rims (big thanks to John Black @ Velocity USA!), Shimano Alfine internal hubs, and DT Swiss Aerolite spokes- truly custom wheels.

Dyna and her new ride.
With spring in full bloom Dyna will be enjoying her new ride with her family, and you can bet this bike will turn some heads. Congratulations, Dyna!
